With a background in Photography, Performing Arts and Advertising, Macarena graduated Summa Cum Laude as Illustrator from the Savannah College of Art & Design, and since then has been working as Illustrator and Designer for the Children's Books and International Editorial Market.

Macarena has two distinctive styles of illustration: one Realistic, done in Color Pencil and Oils; the second, Painterly, done in Acrylics and mixed media.

Member of the Society of Children's Books Writers & Illustrators, she is currently represented by Wendy Lynn & Co. for the Children's Book Market.
