Hi there,
Creating images for childrens books has dominated my life since 1982. I've been working as a full time freelancer, through my good freind and agent, Virgil Pomfret, up until his early death in february 2009. Now happy to be with the equally friendly and efficient Paul Beebee (Beehive Illustration).

The core of my output is based around figurework from my imagination. I rarely use reference except for historical accuracy and that sort of thing. Hence photorealism won't be flowing from the pointy end of any stylus I'm on the other end of.

My work is almost exclusively digital these days, after spending twenty years on watercolour and line. Once I acquired a decent graphics tablet, any hesitance I experienced about a pc's practicality for illustration melted away. Sketchbook Pro, Painter and ArtRage form the backbone of my software, with Photoshop lurking in the background to provide the safety net of good file compatibility.
