My nursery school didn't have a playground--it had a cemetery, and that was where we were sent to run and jump. Two small children discovered finger painting with mud, and those two became illustrators. My suspicion is that a bunch of us must have started out like this. One of our ancients Rumi, said it clearly: Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.

A great deal of my work is in charcoal, another great deal is in watercolor, but if you'd like to stray from this page and head off to the alternate Website, you will see even more examples. I am now completing my third children's picture book, with more to come.

Living somewhere on the Island of Long, somewhere in New York, I spend most of my time bent over my desk and occasionally dreaming of mushroom sandwiches.
