Barbara Pollak is San Francisco based illustrator who lives with her 1 husband, 2 young children, 1 cat, 2 tropical fish and 30,000 honeybees. Her clients have included: Seventeen, Girl's Life, Time For Kids, Scholastic, TWIST, Penguin Putnam/Grosset & Dunlap,Rigby, Rodale Press, Watson-Guptill, Harcourt Brace and many others. She has also created cards, posters, games and textbook illustrations for children and teen markets. Recently, Pollak wrote and illustrated her first picture book for younger audiences about gardening, community and food. 'Our Community Garden' was published in 2004. She is currently working on her next book for kids about a girl who owns a jacket with many pockets. In her free time she enjoys traveling, painting and collecting Japanese fashion magazines.
