Raised in a Cuban household in Miami, Julissa’s main influences and passion stem from her family and culture. She attended Ringling College of Art and Design and received her BFA in illustration. Her work has been featured in a commercial, a motion picture, magazines, picture books and more. Today she is known for her whimsical, dreamy, and candy-like creations.
She lives and works out of her home studio in a quaint historic neighborhood of Brooklyn, where she finds inspiration on a daily bases. She is grateful to be living in NYC and following her dreams.
Some of her clients have included American Greetings, Target, Highlights, McGraw-Hill, National Geographic School Publishing, Oxford University Press, Scholastic & Weekly Reader Publishing.
