I love drawing people of all ages. Tween girls seem to be particularly drawn to my illustrations. Before being a full-time illustrator, I refined my visual skills as a photo editor, graphic designer and art director. Although my illustrations are digital, they begin with a sharpened pencil. I stay inspired by building massive train configurations with my children, coloring with crayons, sketching under the puffy cloud skies of Nebraska and wandering the children's book section. I have had the pleasure of working with some fantastic art directors at Mattel, Random House, Scholastic and American Girl.
