Kate Daubney is an accomplished illustrator, represented by Advocate Art Illustration Agency. Kate’s father is an artist and she has always been very creative so becoming an illustrator was a natural progression for her. She is very driven to succeed and loves a challenge, inspired by wanting to make those who have helped her proud.

Her work is quirky, colourful and fun. She uses good old pen and ink to do her line work before scanning into Photoshop and colouring in. A lot of her work incorporates pattern and texture too.

Having only graduated with a degree in illustration a few years ago, Kate feels that she is really lucky to be where she is. She includes Cambridge University Press, Pearson Education and Caterpillar books on her client list and is always itching to get started when a new job come in. She has also won a highly commended award in the Macmillan Children’s Book Prize in 2007.

In her spare time Kate likes to watch movies, Monster Inc. being her all time favourite. She is also a big dog lover and loves nothing more than picking up the family dog ‘Buddy’ and taking him for a stroll across the beach. Although she says he doesn’t really understand the concept of walking, so a chase across the beach is probably a better description.
