My studio is a converted one car garage in my Northeast Portland, Oregon back yard. It is cluttered and crazy most of the time, and it is a huge bonus that it is not attached to the house (I believe this saves me from stopping work every five minutes to do the dishes or the laundry or browse the fridge). I drag my heels heading out here to start work (especially on cold, rainy Portland mornings), but once I settle in it's a great place to block out the world and immerse myself in making art. I only wish it had a bathroom!
