Chris Embleton-Hall is an English based artist specialising in children’s illustration.
Chris was born in Epsom, Surrey at the end of the heat wave in 1976. Chris spent most of his youth growing up in Guildford, Surrey with his Mum, Dad, Grandad, Cat, Rabbit and six Fish. He moved to Leicestershire in 2002 where he now lives with his wife and two year old called Archie.
Chris spent hours of his spare time as a child drawing with his granddad this was an early influence for him. Leading him to gain GCSE in ART and Graphic design he then went onto do a BTEC Diploma from Farnham Art School and a degree in illustration.
Chris illustrations are a mixture of digital styles and most recently incorporating pattern and texture. He starts by drawing all his artwork with pencil on paper which he then scans and renders digitally on Photoshop. When working him likes to listen to film soundtracks to bands like snow patrol and Kings of Leon when he’s illustrating for longer hours he likes listening to Audio Books. Chris draws inspiration from looking at lots of different children’s book‘s, finding inspiration from the illustrators as well as the stories themselves. When Chris is not illustrating he likes to go to the cinema as well as being a member of the local walking group.
