Really exciting news! Yesterday, Kim Haskan, Author of "Mommy has a Booboo in her Boob" was interviewed in Toronto by CityTV News about our book! So proud of her and to have been a part of this project =)

The book can be purchased on Amazon, and the proceeds will go to three different breast cancer charities. You can check out the interview here =)

Here's a sneak peak at a book I just started illustrating, about a little girl's life as seen through her mother's eyes. It's titled "More than Mud", written by Kate Butler, and will be released some time in the Spring of 2014. Here is the first sketch (forgive the font, I'm not a typography master - nicer font will be inserted by the book designer) =)

Finally, one of the books that I have been working on this past year, has been released in time for Christmas! The first is "Mommy has a Booboo in her Boob" written by Kim Haskan and published by Dragon Pencil.

A few years ago, Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent extensive treatment, had a double mastectomy, and survived the illness. Upon her recovery, she wrote a most touching and informative children's book about her experience, which also included the journey of her husband and three children. She came to me with a nearly complete layout in mind, she knew how she wanted every scene to look, and it was so easy and inspiring to work with her. We tried a new layout in this book that I've never attempted before (all Kim's design), and it's a blend of a traditional narrative that we often see in children's books, a comic-book strip, and an instruction manual. It was challenging but artistically rewarding. And most importantly, it's a story that needs to be told.

The book is available on Amazon, and hopefully soon it will be available on other book retailers.

The second book that I have been working on is "Ellen Melon", written by Author/Filmmaker, Michal Stevens.

Ellen Melon is a story about a little girl who learns how to plant and grow watermelon seeds. I also found this story important in today's age of GMO and artificial foods (not that I mean to bash GMO foods, they saved millions of lives, but it's nice to realign some focus on non-industrial food production as well). We found it important to teach children how to recognize naturally grown foods, foods with seeds, how to take care of seeds, and how to nourish them once they begin to grow. It's a beautifully written story based on Michal's grandmother, who also had a deep love for gardening.

Ellen Melon can be purchased on its website, and will hopefully be available on Amazon and other online retailers soon.

Just received the proof for "Mommy Has a Booboo in her Boob"! The last one we received was a bit dark so I had to lighten a few illustrations, but I think we're ready to go to print with this one =)

Two weeks ago I had the privilege of doing an interview with Mick Bannister, the Host of Plane Talking, a one hour radio show at Seclow Sounds in the UK. We discussed my childhood in Poland, my sports career in university, and my transition into art, film, and illustration. I also got to share some of my favorite songs and artists, which made this interview one of the most fun and expressive ones I've ever done. It aired yesterday at 8pm London time, but you can check out the replay link here. Thanks for tuning in!
