The first books I remember were my dad's old blue bound AA Milne classics with 'decorations' (illustrations) by Ernest H. Shepard. These were stories and poems, including Christopher Robin and Winnie-The-Pooh, many of which I can recite to this day. I still have these tattered volumes, which I brought on the boat across the ocean from Ireland when I was very young. I also adored Dr Seuss, the worlds he created were fascinating to me. As with most artists, I was drawing at a young age, copying cartoons and anything I could get my hands on. Animals were always a big part of my life. I had hoped to be a vet one day but couldn't bring myself to dissect a frog in science class so chose to follow my other passion and draw and paint them instead.

I have been illustrating for 30 years.

After studying at OCAD I began my illustration career working in relief sculpture, later switching to water colour and finally digital art on her Wacom Cintiq. As an illustrator I have been fortunate to work with many wonderful clients around the world. My colourful illustrations of animals and images for young children have been used on a vast variety of projects including picture books, games, colouring books, e-books, magazines, displays, posters, t-shirts, products and web sites.

I am very particular about meeting deadlines and pride myself on producing consistent, high quality images. Over the years I have formed many long time relationships with clients with whom I have kept in touch. I have had lengthy contracts with several publications including Chickadee and Chirp Magazines where my work has been featured monthly for over two decades. I am an active member of SCBWI.

Today I am also a partner in The Branch Ranch, a boutique farm that grows ornamental branches. Please visit the company website to see more about the farm.
