My full name is Maria Julia Filipone Erez. I was born in Río Gallegos, Patagonia, Argentina (down there, yes, closer to Antarctica than to Buenos Aires). Then I moved to Santa Fe, Argentina, area of cows and rivers. And then to Jerusalem, the Middle East, area of… well, it’s too long to go into. My husband is Israeli, and that’s the reason why I divide my time between Israel and Argentina. This half-nomad way of living has resulted in a wide experience in working remotely, and also in working in different languages such as Spanish, English and Hebrew.

I studied Visual Arts in college, and History and Education in the National University of Litoral, Santa Fe, Argentina. The combination of these disciplines has given me a great background for making children's and educational illustrations and comics for children, adults and students.

Regardless of where I’m living, I’m always working on children’s books, textbooks, magazines, posters, greeting cards and basically anything that will make people smile.
