Kathy Weller
My name is Kathy Weller, and my art studio is called Wellerwishes Illustration & Design. I live in Cambridge, MA with my husband and our two beloved pugs.
I love doing children's art because I believe that one of the most important things I can do as an artist is to help spark a young person's creativity and imagination. Artwork does that. I find that it's especially important in educational materials. In some cases, workbooks and the like are one of the few places that a child is exposed to fresh, age-appropriate artwork on a regular basis and while their minds are in an active state. I deeply appreciate this fact and I am honored to be able to help energize young learners with my art in this way, especially visual learners.
I'm available for trade picture book, mass market, educational work, packaging and product illustration, and art for licensing in the juvenile market.
Some of my recent clients include: Harcourt, Scott Foresman, Element LLC, Rubicon Publishing, Pearson Education, Macmillan.
I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Graphic Artists Guild (GAG).
